The Challenge

Ribble Cycles, a prominent UK cycling retailer, was deep into an ambitious replatform to Vue Storefront. As large migrations often do, the project had proven harder than anyone planned for: a complex codebase, accumulated technical debt, and mounting bugs had slowed velocity to a crawl, and the build had slipped more than a year past its original deadline.

The delivery team needed senior hands-on capacity to stabilize the platform and get it across the finish line - without a rewrite that would have thrown away years of investment.

What We Did

This engagement predates Arx Modus as a bureau: our founder joined the delivery team as a senior frontend engineer and took on the core of the stabilization effort.

Outcome

Seven months later, the storefront went live. Stabilizing rather than rewriting preserved the client's multi-year investment and delivered a production e-commerce platform for one of the UK's leading cycling brands. It was a team result and the kind of work that shaped how Arx Modus approaches complex systems today: stabilize first, ship pragmatically, respect what's already built.
